What is Cloud Computing?

Basic cloud computing is not exactly a new concept. Rudimentary cloud services have been around for a long time in the form of email. You can remotely log into a web-based email account on any computing device and get all the information that you have access to. The process works by fetching your messages from the email service provider’s server, which is essentially a cloud. Modern cloud systems developed on this fundamental principle to extend the range of functionality offered to users. As the technology developed over time, its usability gradually improved.

How it Works

Cloud computing technology operates by integrating a cluster of independent servers situated in different locations. Controlled and maintained by a service provider, these servers are remote computers that store all the data and run software tapped by its subscribers. Users who are connected to the cloud can access applications kept on the servers from their own computers, without having to load the applications on their own systems.

The inherent flexibility of this technology gives users the freedom to temporarily use applications without having to buy them. All that is required is for a user to select a suitable package, pay the subscription fee and begin using the service.
